One Piece - Episode 1 Synopsis

"I'm Luffy! The man who is gonna be the king of pirates"

The story begins with a whirlpool forming near the passenger ship in the ocean. Inside the ship's ballroom, a man invites a woman for a dance while the crew takes a barrel assuming that the barrel contains booze. Suddenly the crew member spots the pirate ship owned by the notorious pirates named "Heart Pirates" and starts shouting: "Pirates, Pirates The enemy raid, enemy raid"

The passenger ship crew ran to inform the captain about the enemy raid. At that moment, the pirates fire their cannons at the marine ship and now the ship is in a ship shock. The people on the ship start running and the captain instructs them to follow the instructions carefully.  

The storyline shifts to the pirate's vessel where the captain utters her signature phrase "Who's the most beautiful of all on the seas?". And a pink-haired little boy named Coby answers:

 "Of course this ship's captain, Alvida Sama!"

And then the pirate's captain orders the crew to start pounding the ship. After using a club to hurl Coby onto the ship. Alvida jumps into the passenger ship with the club in her hand. Coincidently, while walking little boy Coby reaches the room where the barrel was placed and then he takes that barrel out of that room and on his way crossed paths with some of his fellow pirates. Who by force took the barrel from Coby. And when they were forcefully trying to break the barrel a guy named "Luffy" popped out of the barrel.

Unintentionally hitting the guy who was trying to open the barrel. Then the guys were angered and tried to attack him with their swords, resulting in their swords breaking. The guys then ask "Who're you?". And Luffy introduces himself "I'm Monkey D. Luffy ". The pirate guys run away to call for help. Meanwhile, Luffy heads to the storage room Coby who was there all the time gets terrified and warns Luffy to run away. But Luffy's sole preoccupation is to locate some food to satisfy his hunger. There he finds himself some food and the little guy Coby introduces himself to Luffy and praises him for being courageous. Luffy asks Coby about the ship's situation and tells him how his ship got swallowed by the whirlpool and he hid in the barrel ending up on the marine ship. 

Coby tells Luffy about his bad luck of meeting pirates on the day when he was fishing in the sea. Coby tells him how he has been serving for 2 years.

Luffy mocks him saying he's a wimp for not running away when he does not like being there. Alvida was supervising the treasure lifted by her crew onto her ship. The lady who was asked for a dance in the ballroom is a burglar who is gathering gold to escape in a small boat. The guys who ran to ask for help come to Alvida and tell her about the guy who popped out of the barrel assuming that he must be a bounty hunter. Coby asks Luffy about his purpose for setting out on the sea. Luffy answers:

"I'm gonna be the King of pirates"

Coby is significantly taken aback upon hearing of Luffy's aim. He then asks Luffy if he is a pirate and has got crew of his own. Luffy states that he is currently seeking some. Coby then gets up shouting interrogatively that the pirate king seeks the great treasure of wealth, fame, and power known as One Piece. And then Luffy answers: "yes". Coby then starts saying that he can't become the king of pirates and then Luffy hits him on his head saying:

"It's not about whether I can or not. I'm gonna do it because I want to."

Looking at his straw hat, he further proceeds:

Upon hearing Luffy's musings, Coby is motivated to share his own aspirations of joining the navy to apprehend sea criminals such as Alvida. This conversation was still ongoing, Alvida abruptly enters the room by demolishing the roof and asking Coby who he is gonna capture?. Alvida looks at Luffy and says you don't seem to be Zoro the pirate hunter and then she utters her signature phrase when Coby is still answering Luffy interrupts saying: 

"Who's this big chunky lady?"

Alvida becomes infuriated by Luffy's words, prompting her to strike him with her club. Luffy manages to evade this hit and, grabbing Coby's hand, escapes through the roof hole created by Alvida. Outside he beats up the crew show casing his skill to be able to stretch his hands. The attack which he uses to get the whole crew in one blow is "Gum-Gum Rocket". And there comes Coby asking about Luffy's ability. Luffy tells him that he is a rubber person who can stretch his body parts of his own will. Alvida demands to know if Luffy has eaten a Devil Fruit, Luffy says yes and names the fruit "Gum-Gum Fruit". Until now everyone has heard rumors so far but now it has been confirmed. As Luffy declares himself a pirate and wishes to have ten crew members. Alvida declares Luffy an enemy for being a pirate. Meanwhile, the burglar woman is escaping with the gold. Coby advises Luffy to get out of there as the club of Alvida is very powerful but when he takes a look at the firmness in Luffy's eyes. He gets motivated and mocks Alvida for being the cragged old hag ever. Alvida is angry now and hits Coby with her club but Luffy gets ahead of Coby and takes the hit. As he is a rubber man that hit could not do him anything. Rather he retaliates against Alvida with an attack named "Gum-Gum Pistol". And sends her flying into the sky. 

Everyone was amazed at how he defeated the notorious Alvida. Then Luffy asks Alvida's crew to get Coby a small boat. So that he can join the navy. And there come the navy ships. Luffy asks Coby to go to join the navy and escapes by jumping off the ship into a burglar's boat as he is a pirate. Coby joins him too in this. 

Now he asks Coby about the bounty hunter guy. Coby tells Luffy that he is named Zoro and is held in Marine Base leading Luffy to think that he is a weakling. Coby rectifies Luffy by telling him how terrifying the demon Zoro is. But then Coby asks why are you(Luffy) concerned about him?. Luffy tells him he wants Zoro to join his crew if he is a good guy. And then we get to see the man tied with ropes and wearing a green bandana on his head.
